Description

COMPOSITION:

Diclofenac diethylamine.......................... 232 mg (equivalent to 200 mg of diclofenac sodium)

Excipients.q.s....................................................................................................................... 20 g

(Paraffin oil, rose essential oil, cremophor RH40, simulgel 600 PHA, nipagin, isopropanol, propylene glycol, carbopol ETD 2020, purified water).

DOSAGE FORM: Dermal Cream.

PRESENTATION: Box of 1 tube x 20 g.

PHARMACODYNAMICS: Diclofenac diethylamine, a derivative of phenylacetic acid, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic properties. The drug gives a good local effect and quick action on symptoms of swelling and pains in musculoskeletal, muscular, soft-tissue, tendinous diseases. Thus, Diclofenac diethylamine is usually prepared in dosage form of dermal cream with the therapeutic concentration of 1% diclofenac sodium.

INDICATIONS: Cotilam is used in topical treatment of the following cases for the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects:

- Tendonitis, periarthritis, spinal osteoarthritis, and peripheral arthritis.

- Post-traumatic inflammations of the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints, sprains.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Hypersensitivity to any components of the drug and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

PRECAUTIONS:

Cotilam should be never applied on the scratched skin, open wounds, eyes, or mucosa.

INTERACTIONS: Avoid concurrent administration with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

ADVERSE EFFECTS:

Contact dermatitis such as pruritus, skin redness, oedema, urticaria has been reported.

Systemic reactions may occur when applying the drug on extensive area for a long time.

Inform your physician about any adverse effects occur during the treatment.

OVERDOSAGE: No document has been reported.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:

Cotilam should be applied 3 - 4 times daily, 2 - 4 grams for each.
