EYELIGHT

COMPOSITION:

Tetrahydrozoline HCl .................. 5 mg

Excipients q.s ........................... 10 ml

(PEG 400, boric acid, sodium borate, sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, sodium EDTA, borneol, distilled water).

DOSAGE FORM: Eye drops.

PRESENTATION: Box of 1 vial x 10 ml.

PHARMACODYNAMICS: Eyelight is an eye-drop solution containing Tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride - a sympathomimetic agent. Eyelight has a promptly vasoconstrictive activity. The onset of vasoconstriction begins occurrence within minutes and the effect is prolonged; therefore, it is effective in anti-congestion and relief of conjunctival oedema. Eyelight rapidly treats the redness of eyes, cools and refreshes eyes.

INDICATIONS:

Treatment of the redness of eyes, conjunctival congestion, ocular itching and burning, eyestrain. Cooling eyes.

Relief of conjunctival oedema, secondary congestion due to ocular allergies and mild ocular irritations, reddened eyes due to dust, smoke, wind, dazzling sunlight, pollen, water (while swimming) ...; due to reading, using computer, frequently watching television, or wearing contact-lenses.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Patients with glaucoma.

During wear of contact-lenses.

PRECAUTIONS:

Please consult a physician in the following cases:

Symptoms of ocular irritation or redness persist or increase after 3 days of using Eyelight.

Ocular irritation or redness due to infections, foreign objects in eyes, ocular lesion due to chemicals, traumas.

Severe sore eyes associated with headache, rapid change of vision, diplopia, acute redness of eyes, ocular aches and pains on exposure to light.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION: The drug should be used with caution in pregnant women and nursing mothers.

EFFECTS ON ABILITY TO DRIVE AND USE MACHINES:

The drug does not affect the ability to use vehicles and machinery.

INTERACTIONS: Avoid concomitant administration with MAOIs, sympathetic nerve inhibitors.

ADVERSE EFFECTS: Adverse reactions are often unpopular. However, a large quantity of the drug should not be used because of increase in the redness of eyes.

Children aged 5 years and younger swallowed a small amount of (about 1-2 ml) the drug can cause adverse effects such as coma, decreased heart rate, decreased respiration and sedation. It is therefore advisable to keep the drug out of reach of children. In case children swallow the drug, it is advised to take them to the health facilities to get proper treatment.

Inform your physician about adverse effects occur during the treatment.

OVERDOSAGE: In case of overdose or children swallowing the drug, contact immediately with health facilities for appropriate treatment.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:

Instil 1 to 2 drops into each eye, 3 to 4 times daily.

Children under 6 years of age: consult the physician for advice.

Or as prescribed by the physician.

Notes:

- Do not use the drug in case the solution color is changed or turbid.

- Do not use the drug over 30 days after opening or over its expiry date.

- To avoid bacterial contamination or spoilage of the drug: do not touch the inside of cover or the tip of vial; avoid touching the tip to eyelids.

- Cover closely after use; avoid using the same vial with other people.

- Store the vial in the box after each use.
